Emirates has announced changes to its London Gatwick operations for the upcoming summer season, increasing the number of daily Airbus A380 flights from one to two. This adjustment comes after the airline previously operated three daily A380 flights in 2025, representing a partial restoration of capacity on the route.

The revised schedule will see Emirates operating four daily flights between Dubai and Gatwick starting in early February 2026. As a result, Emirates’ total daily passenger departures from London will reach a record 13 this winter.

According to Emirates’ updated plans, beginning March 29, 2026, the airline will maintain four daily services to Gatwick. Two of these flights will be operated by the high-capacity, two-class Airbus A380, which seats 615 passengers—58 in business class and 557 in economy. This aircraft replaces the first-class-equipped Boeing 777-300ER that had 354 seats. The change increases Emirates’ daily round-trip seat offering at Gatwick to 3,730, which is a 17% rise over previous projections.

Flight schedules for April show that Emirates will use a mix of A380s, Boeing 777-300ERs, and Airbus A350-900s on the route. The planned timings and aircraft assignments are subject to change.

Between January and July 2025, Emirates carried approximately 535,700 passengers between Dubai and Gatwick. During this period, three daily services were offered, with two typically operated by A380s and one by a Boeing 777-300ER. On occasion, all three flights used the A380. With about 670,300 available seats during these months, Emirates achieved an average seat load factor of 80%. March saw the lowest load factor at 70%, while April and July both reached 88%, coinciding with Easter travel and peak summer demand.

Booking data indicates that just over half of Emirates’ Gatwick passengers connected to onward flights in Dubai. However, point-to-point travel between London and Dubai remains significant; more than 1.2 million travelers flew only between these cities across all airlines and London airports during those seven months.

Emirates’ top connecting markets from Gatwick included India, Australia, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, South Africa, Malaysia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Japan. Popular destinations among connecting passengers were Bangkok, Sydney, Male (Maldives), Denpasar/Bali (Indonesia), Melbourne (Australia), Kochi (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Phuket (Thailand), Mauritius Island (Mauritius), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Brisbane (Australia), Chennai (India), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Hong Kong SAR China (Hong Kong), and Mumbai (India).
