American Airlines has announced a new partnership with Italian coffee brand Lavazza, aiming to enhance the passenger experience by serving Lavazza coffee on its flights and in its lounges starting in early 2026. The airline stated that this move is intended to provide a more consistent and premium coffee offering for travelers.

Lavazza, founded in 1895, is recognized globally for its long-standing reputation in coffee craftsmanship. American Airlines described the brand as being "at the forefront of coffee craftsmanship," noting that it blends traditional Italian methods with modern techniques to produce coffees that are "rich, balanced and universally admired." Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer at American Airlines, commented on the collaboration: "We're proud to team up with this iconic brand to bring a rich, satisfying coffee experience to our customers, whether they're in the air or relaxing in our lounges."

The introduction of Lavazza coffee will be available to passengers across all classes on American Airlines flights. Premium travelers visiting Flagship and Admirals Club lounges at select airports will also have access to the beverage. The airline indicated that this initiative is part of a broader effort to improve its premium travel offerings, which include upgraded culinary options, redesigned lounges, and enhanced onboard amenities.

Hossam Ashraf, Americas President at Lavazza Group, also expressed support for the partnership: "Collaborating with a brand that shares our commitment to exceptional experiences helps strengthen our presence and footprint in the market."

In addition to announcing the new partnership with Lavazza, American Airlines marked two years since launching its AAdvantage Business program. This program aims to make business travel more rewarding for companies and travelers by allowing participating businesses to earn miles. Over time, thousands of businesses have joined and accumulated millions of miles through the scheme. The airline plans further updates beginning January 1, 2026; these changes will introduce additional earning opportunities based on customer spending and shift redemption periods to align with calendar years.
