Air France has announced plans to increase its long-haul capacity by 3% for the winter 2025-2026 season. The airline will add two new leisure routes and increase frequencies to various destinations in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. The Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 will be central to this expansion.

The new routes include a thrice-weekly service from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Phuket Airport in Thailand starting November 27, 2025, and a thrice-weekly service to Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic beginning January 13. Both will use the Boeing 777-300ER. Additional capacity will be added to destinations such as Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Cancun, Rio de Janeiro, and Cape Town. Dubai International Airport will see up to 16 weekly flights from Air France.

The airline stated, "Air France continues to expand its network. During the Winter 2025–2026 season (November 2025 to March 2026), the airline will operate nearly 800 daily flights to close to 170 destinations worldwide."

Air France’s strategy focuses on premium products, including expanding its La Premiere first-class service to more US and Asia routes. The airline is also working towards full-fleet high-speed WiFi, with about 30% of aircraft equipped by the end of 2025 and full compatibility expected the following year. These technology upgrades aim to improve passenger experience and enhance competitiveness in Europe.

Transavia, operating from Orly Airport, allows Air France to maintain a price range while growing targeted leisure capacity. Enhanced services at Los Angeles International Airport include dedicated check-in, TSA escorts, and tarmac transfers, reflecting a focus on premium offerings.

The expansion is described as targeted rather than aggressive, aimed at high-yield leisure travelers and relying on proven demand corridors. Air France seeks to grow by adding routes where there is established demand, differentiating itself from competitors that expand by offering lower fares.
