Embraer has begun construction of a new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) center for commercial jets at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Texas. The company marked the start of the project with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by executives, local officials, and partner representatives.

The facility, which is scheduled to open by 2027, will expand Embraer’s capacity to serve E-Jets operators in the United States by 53%. The investment in the new center is expected to reach up to $70 million and create up to 250 skilled aviation jobs in Texas. In June 2025, Embraer began operating at an existing hangar at Alliance Airport, working with the City of Fort Worth, Denton County, and the State of Texas.

Embraer President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto stated, “We are honored to be here in Fort Worth, Texas – a city that represents innovation, resilience, and opportunity – to celebrate the groundbreaking of our new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport.”

Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said that Alliance Airport is a hub for innovation and economic opportunity. She noted that Embraer’s new facility will further strengthen Fort Worth’s position in aviation and advanced manufacturing, and highlighted the city’s strong business environment and workforce.

Earlier in 2025, Texas Governor Greg Abbott officially declared Fort Worth the Aviation and Defense Capital of Texas. This designation recognizes the city’s history in aerospace and defense manufacturing, including its role in producing aircraft such as the B-36 Peacemaker, B-58 Hustler, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and F-35 Lightning II.

Alliance Airport is the second-largest airport facility in North Texas after Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. It is owned by the city of Fort Worth and managed by Alliance Air Services. The airport mainly serves cargo operations and provides various aviation services, rather than major commercial passenger airlines.

Embraer has maintained a presence in the United States for over 46 years, with its E-Jets entering the US market in 2005. According to ch-aviation, more than 800 Embraer E-Jets are currently in service with 15 operators in the US. SkyWest Airlines operates the largest fleet, followed by Republic Airways and Envoy Air. These airlines provide services for major carriers such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United.

Recently, Embraer secured its first US order for the E-2 program when Avelo Airlines placed a firm order for 50 E195-E2 aircraft, with options for 50 more. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
