John Wayne Airport has released its revised statistics for August 2024, highlighting a decrease in total passenger numbers compared to the same month last year. The airport reported a total of 947,733 passengers in August 2024, marking an 8.8% decline from the 1,038,889 passengers recorded in August 2023. Year-to-date figures also show a decrease of 5.9%, with passenger numbers falling from 7,925,145 in 2023 to 7,455,006 in 2024.
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has completed a significant environmental and safety upgrade by removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often referred to as "forever chemicals," from its Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) response fleet.
