Delta Air Lines has maintained its position as the most punctual U.S. carrier, achieving an on-time performance rate of over 80% in June. This marks the sixth consecutive month that Delta has led in this category, surpassing Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. Concurrently, Washington Dulles International was recognized as the most punctual U.S. airport for on-time departures during the same period.

According to the latest Monthly On-Time Performance Report from aviation analytics firm Cirium, Delta recorded an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 80.05%, a slight decrease from May's 81.04% and April's 85.73%. The airline was followed by Alaska Airlines with a 77.79% OTP and United Airlines at 77.44%. American Airlines and Spirit Airlines rounded out the top five with OTP rates of 73.62% and 72.52%, respectively.

On-time performance is defined as flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time or departing within 15 minutes of schedule for airports.

In terms of total flights in June, Delta managed 148,781 flights with an OTP of 80.05%, while Alaska Airlines had 38,364 flights at a 77.79% OTP, and United Airlines conducted 136,737 flights with a 77.44% OTP.

The collective on-time arrival rate for these ten airlines reached 73.15% over a total of 762,572 flights in June.

Regarding airport performance, four U.S. airports ranked among the world's top twenty most punctual: Washington Dulles International (IAD), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL), Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW), and Los Angeles International (LAX). Notably, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport saw a significant drop in its on-time performance from May's 82.56% to June's 70.60%.

Globally, Saudia emerged as the most punctual airline with an OTP of 88.22%, followed by Aeromexico at 86.18%, LATAM Airlines at 85.83%, Japan Airlines at 85.10%, and Azul at 84.83%. Delta was the only U.S.-based airline to make it into the global top ten.

In terms of airports worldwide, Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport held the top spot with an OTP of 85.60%. São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport came second with an OTP of 85.13%, followed by Jorge Chavez International Airport at third place with an OTP of 83.95%.

Washington Dulles led among U.S airports globally ranked eighth overall for its punctuality with an OTP rate of over eighty percent.
