Textron Aviation has introduced a special version of the Beechcraft King Air, named the Crimson Edition, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the King Air series. Announced at EAA AirVenture 2024, this edition will be available for 2025 deliveries and features a distinctive new interior along with a vibrant red and silver exterior paint scheme.

“The Crimson Edition of the King Air provides customers with an immersive experience that pays tribute to the turboprop’s renowned legacy, while also featuring modern luxuries and upgrades that showcase the aircraft's ongoing evolution,” said Christi Tannahill, senior vice president of customer experience. “We’re honored to celebrate a prestigious aircraft that is beloved by so many customers around the world.”

In addition, Textron Aviation unveiled an improved cockpit for the Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX at the event. The updated models now feature black instrument and cockpit panels and are equipped with electroluminescent lighting similar to that in the Grand Caravan EX.

Both Caravan models have been upgraded with a wider cockpit boarding ladder to facilitate easier access for pilots. For enhanced in-flight comfort, two rectangular cockpit air vents have been replaced with four circular adjustable air nozzles.

The lower center pedestal now includes two USB-C charging ports instead of the previous 12-volt power adapter. Additionally, two USB-C charging ports have been added to the right-hand subpanel on the right-seat pilot’s side. To provide more flexibility for powering headsets, LEMO jacks were installed next to two general aviation headset jacks. Headset hooks have also been added underneath the cockpit glare shield.

These features will be standard on all 2025 Caravans and Caravan EXs.
