EFTA flight instructors now have the opportunity to join Emirates as First Officers after completing five years in their training roles. These instructors, once trained to operate Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, can become part of Emirates' pilot community, which consists of 4,400 pilots.

Capt Abdulla Al Hammadi, Divisional Vice President at EFTA, expressed appreciation for the instructors on World Teachers’ Day. He stated: “We celebrate our flight instructors – who are among the most experienced and committed in the industry – on this World Teachers’ Day. They are the backbone of the academy and have a significant impact on shaping the personalities and success of our cadets."

Muhammad Bilal Pasha, a First Officer at Emirates and former EFTA flight instructor, shared his experience: “Being a flight instructor at EFTA was more than just teaching – it was about inspiring the next generation of pilots to chase their dreams with passion and resilience."

Ian Harrington, Deputy Chief Theoretical Knowledge at EFTA, commented on the academy's role: “At EFTA, we have the unique ability to mentor the future of aviation... I feel proud to be a part of an academy that empowers its teachers.”

Both Emirates and EFTA are looking for experienced instructors due to their growth plans. Currently, EFTA has 43 flight instructors from 23 nationalities while Emirates has 520 from 53 nationalities.

EFTA is inviting candidates with a minimum of 700 hours and specific licenses to apply. Similarly, those wishing to join Emirates must meet certain criteria including holding specific licenses and having extensive experience.

EFTA is known for its advanced pilot training facilities located at Dubai World Central. The facility includes cutting-edge technology and infrastructure spread over 12.5 million square feet.

Emirates also offers state-of-the-art pilot training facilities with simulators for A380s and 777s. Their new $135 million academy will feature additional simulator bays for A350s and 777X aircraft.
