Cathay Pacific has announced the expansion of its North American network with the introduction of non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). This new route, set to begin on April 24, 2025, will be Cathay Pacific's sixth passenger destination in the United States and eighth in North America. The move aims to strengthen the airline's presence on the continent and enhance global connectivity from its home base in Hong Kong.

Lavinia Lau, Cathay Group Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, stated: “With our unique position of having deep roots in Hong Kong, being proudly part of China, and connecting the world, Cathay continues to build Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub that connects people to the most exciting places in the world."

She added: “Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports. With our Cathay Pacific codeshares as well as other flight options, customers can connect to over 190 domestic destinations in the United States, as well as 11 destinations in Central and South America via DFW, further enhancing Hong Kong’s connectivity with North America and important Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.”

Currently operating 88 return passenger flights per week to North American destinations such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver, Cathay Pacific plans to add four weekly return flights between Hong Kong and DFW using Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. Bookings for these flights are now open.

In addition to this new service, Cathay Pacific will increase frequencies on its North American routes by May 2025. This includes three daily return flights each to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles; daily returns to Boston and Chicago; two daily returns to Vancouver; and 13 weekly returns to Toronto.

The new DFW passenger service will complement existing freighter services operated by Cathay Cargo via Anchorage. To meet growing demand during peak cargo season, five additional freighter flights per week have been introduced this month. Overall, Cathay Cargo operates up to 37 return freighter flights weekly across North America.

Cathay Pacific first entered the North American market with non-stop service to Vancouver in 1983. The airline's long-standing presence underscores North America's significance within its global network.
