Federal Express Corporation, a leading express transportation company, has announced the opening of a new facility in Málaga, Spain. This state-of-the-art station is situated in the Santa Teresa Industrial Estate, a key logistics hub in the city. The development marks a significant expansion of FedEx's operations in the region, enhancing both capacity and productivity.
The new Málaga facility covers 3,244 square meters of warehouse space, which is 1,175 square meters larger than its predecessor. It also includes an additional 300 square meters of modern office space spread over two floors. With exterior parking and improved infrastructure, the facility triples FedEx's sorting capacity to handle up to 1,500 packages per hour. It features 29 loading docks designed for trailers, trucks, and vans to streamline larger shipments.
Ian Silverton, Managing Director of Ground Operations for FedEx Spain and Portugal stated: “The new Málaga station is an important investment in our operational capabilities, allowing us to handle greater volumes and improve efficiency, both within the warehouse and along our distribution routes.” He emphasized that the strategic location provides easy access to major motorways in Málaga and enhances their service offerings for customers.
