The aviation sector in Thailand is being urged to focus on infrastructure, digitalization, and sustainability to enhance its role in the national economy. Xie emphasized the significance of aviation, noting that 84% of tourists arrived by air before COVID-19, contributing 7.4% to the GDP. He suggested that a low tax burden is essential for maintaining Thailand's position in Asia's tourism and MICE sectors and strengthening Bangkok as a hub.

Xie cautioned against increasing taxes on aviation, proposing instead to reduce costs to stimulate growth. Infrastructure development at Suvarnabhumi Airport is seen as crucial for supporting future growth in air travel. Xie stated, "A revised masterplan for Thailand’s airport capacity is critical to delivering the economic benefits of aviation."

On digitalization, Xie noted efforts in technology and automation improvements at airports. He mentioned global initiatives like One ID standards and One Record as vital steps forward: "The efforts to improve the passenger experience with technology will deliver their best if they are aligned with global initiatives."
