MSC Cruises has announced enhancements to its MSC Voyagers Club loyalty program, introducing a new Blue Diamond tier. This will be the highest level in the program, requiring members to accumulate 25,000 points or more.

The Blue Diamond membership offers several embarkation-day benefits such as flexible check-in times, priority embarkation, and luggage drop-off service at the MSC Yacht Club check-in desk. Onboard advantages include My Choice dining, which allows members to dine anytime during their assigned main dining room's open hours.

Additional perks for Blue Diamond members consist of a free Browse Wi-Fi package for one device per member, complimentary shuttle service in port where available, a Behind the Scenes tour on select ships, a private meet-and-greet with the captain, and priority access to tender boats when anchored near a port of call. If unsold cabins are available, these members will receive top priority for cabin upgrades.

Current levels in the MSC Voyagers Club include Classic, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. Blue Diamond members will also enjoy all benefits eligible to lower-tier members. These include a complimentary bottle of Champagne, early access to shows, a specialty restaurant tasting menu at no extra cost, a free one-hour Thermal Spa session, and an option for late checkout.

Points in the MSC Voyagers Club are earned based on cruise length and experience booked. The line offers four experiences: Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, and MSC Yacht Club. Members can also earn points by prepaying for spa services and dining packages.

To achieve Blue Diamond status with the Bella experience (the most basic package), approximately 36 nine-night cruises would be required (earning 700 points per cruise). Longer or more expensive experiences facilitate quicker advancement to this new tier.

Another update is that membership expiration dates have been extended from three to five years. Members need only cruise once every five years to maintain their current level and continue earning points toward higher tiers.

The updated loyalty program is now available. U.S.-based passengers booking through U.S. reservation portals will automatically be enrolled. New members can sign up without a current booking and gain immediate access to discounts of up to 20%.

It should be noted that Blue Diamond status cannot be achieved through the MSC Voyagers Club Status Match Program; it requires sailing with MSC Cruises directly.
