Boeing, a major player in the aerospace industry, is predominantly owned by institutional investors. Among these are The Vanguard Group and BlackRock, which hold significant portions of the company's shares. Timothy J. Keating and Leanne G. Caret are also notable shareholders.

The company, established in 1916 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, operates through four main divisions: Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Global Services (BGS), and Boeing Capital (BCC). "The Boeing Co. is an aerospace company, which engages in the manufacture of commercial jetliners and defense, space, and security systems," as reported by CNN Business.

With over 150,000 employees worldwide, Boeing's revenue for fiscal year 2024 was $83 billion. The Commercial Airplanes division contributed $36 billion or 44% of this total. Defense, Space and Security generated $26 billion or 32%, while Global Services accounted for $20 billion or 24%.

Ownership of Boeing is divided among insiders holding 0.85%, mutual funds with 22.06%, other institutional investors at 17.08%, and public companies along with individual investors making up 60.01%. Institutional investors own approximately 61.67% of the company’s shares.

In recent years, Boeing has seen a steady increase in annual revenue: $62.286 billion in 2021; $66.608 billion in 2022; and $77.794 billion in 2023.

Vanguard Group Inc., Newport Trust Co., and BlackRock Fund Advisors are among the largest stakeholders within the institutional investor category.
