Frontier Airlines has announced the addition of 16 new routes set to begin in February and March 2025. Seven of these routes will operate in and out of Florida, reflecting the airline's strategic focus on this region.

The low-cost carrier revealed that it would launch these routes across 21 airports, with a celebratory sale offering tickets starting at $19. This offer is available until November 24 for travel between February 13, 2025, and April 21, 2025, excluding select blackout dates.

Among the new offerings is an intra-Caribbean route connecting Antigua V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU) with San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU), pending government approval. The service is scheduled to start once a week from February 2025.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will see four new itineraries, while Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) will each host three new routes. Notably, a daily coast-to-coast flight from Orlando to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is part of the expansion.

Competition awaits Frontier as it introduces these routes. In Austin, they will face Allegiant Air and Delta Air Lines on flights to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), among others. Similarly, other airlines such as Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines are set to compete on various paths out of Orlando and Tampa.

However, the route between Antigua and Puerto Rico stands alone without competition following Silver Airways' cessation of service between these locations after April 2024.

Frontier Airlines plans significant growth in capacity for March 2025 compared to last year, with a notable increase in weekly flights and seats by over 27%. During an earnings call on October 29, President Jimmy Dempsey expressed optimism about achieving double-digit adjusted pre-tax margins by summer next year due to revised commercial strategies.

"Our simplified out-and-back network enters into its second year of operation as we progress through Q2 2025," said Dempsey. He highlighted efforts made in improving merchandising under their 'New Frontier' initiative aimed at boosting revenues amidst rising costs.
