Air New Zealand has launched a campaign called 'Schools for Safety,' inviting primary schools across New Zealand to participate in creating safety videos. This initiative follows the release of the airline's 23rd Safety Video, "Every Point Counts," and aims to engage students in a creative exercise that underscores the importance of safety.

The airline is encouraging students to develop original two-minute videos that reflect their unique approach to safety. These submissions are expected to highlight each school's distinctive spirit and cultural elements while making safety an engaging topic.

Dame Valerie Adams, a well-known figure in New Zealand sports and featured in Air New Zealand's latest safety video, will lead the judging panel. She expressed enthusiasm about witnessing the creativity and energy of young participants: "In the judging process, I'm looking for creativity, confidence, and the unique voices of tamariki shining through in these videos."

Kiri Hannifin, Air New Zealand's Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, emphasized the significance of integrating safety with creativity: "Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Air New Zealand. Schools for Safety is not only about fostering a culture of safety among our tamariki but also about giving them a chance to show off their creativity and share their unique voices with the world."

The competition is open to primary schools throughout Aotearoa with children in years 1-8. Submissions are being accepted until midnight on December 4th. Five schools will be selected as winners on December 10th, each receiving a $10,000 grant intended to support student aspirations.
