Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam S.p.A., commonly referred to as Tecnam, is an Italian company known for manufacturing aircraft components and light aircraft. The company was established in 1986 by brothers Luigi and Giovanni Pascale, who had previously worked on the twin-engined Partenavia P.68. Tecnam has contributed to aircraft construction for major manufacturers like Boeing and ATR.

Tecnam operates two production facilities in Italy, located at Naples International Airport and Oreste Salomone Airport. Additionally, it maintains sales and delivery centers in Florida, USA, and Australia. By 2018, the company had delivered 5,000 aircraft globally with a workforce exceeding 250 employees.

The company's focus is primarily on light sport aircraft designed for general aviation. Most of these aircraft are powered by a single 100-horsepower Rotax 912S engine and come in both high-wing and low-wing variants. Some models adhere to ultralight aviation regulations or are certified under European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Very Light Aircraft (VLA) or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) rules.

Among Tecnam's popular models is the Tecnam P2002 Sierra which accounted for a significant portion of its production capacity by 2005. The Sierra model was particularly successful in Europe’s trainer market due to its EASA VLA certification. By mid-2005, Tecnam had delivered 180 units of this model.

In terms of newer developments, the four-seater Tecnam P2006T first flew in 2007 featuring two Rotax engines with retractable landing gear. It received EASA certification in 2009 followed by FAA certification under Part 23 regulations a year later.

Another advancement came with the introduction of the Tecnam P2008 in September 2008, marking the company's first use of carbon fiber fuselage technology. Deliveries commenced in December 2009. The larger four-seat version known as the P2010 followed thereafter.

Tecnam expanded its reach into China through a partnership announced in October 2015 with Liaoning United Aviation for producing the P2006T under Chinese certification standards.

The company also ventured into jet-powered aircraft with its P-Jet model aimed at military training or reconnaissance roles featuring a single turbofan engine.

In commercial aviation, Tecnam introduced the P2012 Traveller targeting various markets including commuter transport and medevac services. This model received FAA certification in August 2019 after its maiden flight took place in July 2016.

Flight International highlighted that demand was strong for models like the four-seat P2006T and two-seat P2008 as of recent years leading to considerations for additional factory expansion if necessary demand persisted.
