Taiwan's EVA Air has announced plans to expand its long-haul network with a new nonstop service connecting Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), starting November 2025. The route is expected to be operated by the Boeing 787-9 fleet, though this remains unconfirmed. This addition will join existing flights to U.S. destinations such as Houston and New York.

The new service will operate five times weekly, beginning on November 3rd, 2025, according to EVA Air President Clay Sun in a press conference cited by the Central News Agency. Despite only 24,000 passengers traveling roundtrip between the two cities in the year ending July 2024, Simple Flying Route Analyst Dr. James Pearson notes that connecting traffic through TPE makes the route viable.

EVA Air suggests that this new route will enhance economic relations between Taiwan and Texas, coinciding with high-tech companies moving from Silicon Valley to Texas. Sun emphasized that TPE would connect to "the world’s third-busiest airport by passenger volume," according to Taiwan News.

Pearson highlights the significance of connecting flights through TPE for domestic and international destinations like Hong Kong and other Southeast Asian cities. This connection increases daily passenger numbers beyond point-to-point demand.

The airline's expansion includes plans for fleet growth, with six Boeing 787s expected for delivery early next year. Ch-aviation data indicates nine 787-9s and five 787-10s are on order.

This marks DFW's first connection to TPE. Currently, EVA Air offers services to six American destinations: Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (daily), New York JFK Airport (daily), Los Angeles International Airport (three times daily), Chicago O'Hare International Airport (daily), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (ten times weekly), and San Francisco International Airport (three times daily).

For the first ten months of the year, EVA Air reported an overall increase in passenger revenue of 8.4% year-over-year, with the Americas accounting for 44% of overall passenger revenue according to Taiwan News. Sun noted significant growth in revenues from long-haul operations.
