Singapore, November 28, 2024 – Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced a new flight route to enhance connectivity between the Asia Pacific region, India, and Europe. This development aims to improve flexibility and operational efficiency for customers in the Asia Pacific, especially across vital trade routes such as Intra-Asia and Europe.

The new route links FedEx's Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China, with Bangalore, India; the UAE; and extends to Liege and Paris in Europe. Operating five times weekly, this service offers businesses increased flexibility during the crucial holiday peak season. The route reduces transit times by one day, ensuring next-day delivery to South India. This is particularly beneficial for the high-tech and automotive sectors in that region. The network adjustment enhances service reliability for imports and exports between India and Europe.

A recent FedEx survey indicates that businesses in the Asia Pacific are expecting sales growth during this holiday season. As of FY24, China remains India's largest trading partner with bilateral trade totaling $118.4 billion—$101.7 billion in imports from China and $16.67 billion in exports to China. The Asia-to-Europe corridor continues to be among the busiest globally, with significant exports of machinery, electronics, and high-tech goods from China.

"Asia Pacific businesses are increasingly prioritizing cross-border trade," said Kawal Preet, president of Asia Pacific at FedEx. "This air network enhancement reflects our confidence in the future of Asia Pacific and allows us to provide smarter logistics solutions connecting businesses flexibly, efficiently, and intelligently to key markets."

Alongside improving connectivity, FedEx is advancing digital solutions to aid customers in navigating global markets. The FedEx Import Tool streamlines import processes while FedEx Ship Manager assists small businesses and e-commerce merchants with online shipment management. Customers can also use FedEx Ship Manager Lite on mobile devices for convenient shipping arrangements. Furthermore, machine learning is applied by FedEx to offer a four-hour window for incoming deliveries aimed at enhancing customer experience.

FedEx continues investing in technology and infrastructure as part of its commitment to support Asia Pacific businesses in strengthening their global manufacturing and trade positions.
