Air Canada is using its Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft for some of its longest routes this December, with flights exceeding 1,100 miles. These regional jets are part of the Air Canada Express brand, which serves slimmer routes and feeds into the broader Air Canada network. The CRJ900 flights will complement or replace certain mainline services.

The longest route this month is between Montreal and Denver, covering 1,611 miles. This route will be operated twice in December by the CRJ900, usually served by an Airbus A220-300. "AC1073 departs Montreal at 08:05, arriving in Denver at 10:35," with a return flight "AC1074 departing Denver at 11:25 and arriving in Montreal at 17:08." These flights provide a total of 152 seats.

Another significant route is from Vancouver to Phoenix, spanning 1,230 miles. This service typically uses larger aircraft but will see two CRJ900 flights in December. The schedule includes "AC1054 departing Vancouver at 08:25 and arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor at 12:33," with the return flight "AC1055 departing Phoenix at 13:25 and arriving in Vancouver at 15:45."

The third-longest route is between Vancouver and San Diego, measuring 1,177 miles. The CRJ900 will operate on this route several times throughout December. The schedule lists "AC8764 departing Vancouver at 08:05" and returning as "AC8765 departing San Diego at 11:45."

Domestically within Canada, the longest CRJ900 flight is from Vancouver to Winnipeg over a distance of 1,162 miles. In December, this route will have multiple flights operated by the CRJ900 alongside regular Airbus A320 services.

Finally, Toronto to Deer Lake marks another long-distance domestic service for Air Canada Express's CRJ900s. Covering a distance of 1,123 miles daily throughout December.

These operations reflect Air Canada's strategy to optimize its fleet across various routes during peak travel periods while maintaining connectivity across North America.
