Federal Express Corporation, a leading global express transportation company, has announced a partnership with ProntoPacco, a major Italian parcel pickup network. This collaboration aims to provide Italian customers with more accessible and flexible delivery solutions by offering over 9,000 pickup points through the combined networks of ProntoPacco and FedEx Locations in Italy.

The partnership responds to changing customer expectations and behaviors, which increasingly favor flexible and convenient delivery options. Supporting this trend, data shows that 36% of European consumers prefer alternative delivery methods over traditional home delivery.

With an expanded network of out-of-home delivery options, customers can choose when and where to pick up, deliver or return their orders according to their needs. Additionally, offering more flexible return management solutions allows online retailers to optimize supply chain costs while improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Frédéric François, Vice President Ground Operations Italy, Spain & Portugal at FedEx Europe commented: “We are fully aware of the growing need for customers to have flexible and convenient delivery options, which are becoming an increasingly widespread preference. This collaboration allows us to offer customers greater ability to customize deliveries based on their schedules with pickup points even closer to their homes.” He added that this expansion represents a strategic opportunity for e-shops to diversify operations, increase customer satisfaction and strengthen brand loyalty in an increasingly competitive online market.

Klaus Schädle, Group Area Managing Director of GLS and CEO of ProntoPacco stated: “We are proud of the strategic positioning our ProntoPacco network is assuming within the logistics sector. We believe that digitalizing the relationship with recipients and Out Of Home (OOH) are fundamental components within our Group's broader strategy. Through ProntoPacco we aim to enable end customers to interact with their shipments simply and intuitively, allowing them to combine daily commitments with picking up a shipment.”

These features are already available for domestic services and will be extended internationally in the coming months. Upon completion of implementation, customers will have access to a vast network of over 49,000 outlets in Europe and 270,000 globally.

Federal Express Corporation is one of the largest express transportation companies worldwide providing fast and reliable deliveries across more than 220 countries and territories using an integrated global air-and-ground network.
