Qatar Airways has introduced a new safety video featuring comedian Kevin Hart and several other celebrities. The video, titled "A safety video coming from the Hart," will initially be available on select flights this month, with a full rollout planned for January 2025.

Kevin Hart, now serving as Qatar Airways' Global Brand Ambassador, leads the seven-minute video directed by Tim Story. The cast includes Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Khaby Lame, Anwar and Amal Jibawi, and Adam Waheed. The video aims to make the in-flight safety demonstration more engaging for passengers.

The storyline begins with Hart in first class accepting a challenge to create an interesting safety video. It features scenes shot in locations such as Nairobi, Paris, New York, Sydney, and Qatar. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is seen assisting Hart with cabin baggage during her cameo appearance. Kevin Hart remarked, "Buckle Up! This safety video is unlike anything you have seen on-board a luxury airline before. I have loved partnering with Qatar Airways to produce a video that passengers will not only pay attention to but remember for a long time coming, or at least until their next flight."

Airlines have been investing significantly in creative safety videos as smartphones distract many passengers from traditional demonstrations. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer of Qatar Airways commented on this trend: "As we continue to become more technologically advanced, we are seeing more and more passengers not paying enough attention to the in-flight safety video, instead opting for entertainment content on their other devices. We decided there was no better way to capture their attention than with their favourite celebrities and content creators."

This approach mirrors efforts by other airlines such as British Airways and Emirates which have experimented with various styles of safety videos ranging from elaborate productions to straightforward presentations.
