Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to expand its presence in Europe by adding two prominent hotels to its network. The luxury hotel brand plans to incorporate the Hotel Lutetia in Paris and the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam into its collection of ultraluxury accommodations. Upon completion of the deal, the Hotel Lutetia will be rebranded as the Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris. Meanwhile, following a significant renovation, the Conservatorium Hotel will be renamed as the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam, in January 2026.

"Mandarin Oriental is focused on being a global leader in luxury hospitality," stated Laurent Kleitman, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental. "These new long-term management agreements with two of Europe's great heritage hotels are core to our strategy of expanding and strengthening our brand's presence in world destinations that appeal to our fans."

The historic Hotel Lutetia, located on Paris's Left Bank and dating back to the early 1900s, underwent a $200 million renovation completed in 2018 under architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The property features 184 rooms, including 47 suites and is recognized as one of Paris's famed Palace hotels.

"Having soon two Palace hotels in Paris, one on the Left and one on the Right Bank, we are proudly reaffirming our relentless commitment to the French hospitality market and creating a compelling choice for our guests," Kleitman added.

In Amsterdam, the Conservatorium Hotel opened its doors in 2011. Known for its contemporary style within a historic building that once served as a bank and music conservatory, it offers 129 guest rooms and suites near major cultural sites like the Van Gogh Museum.

Mandarin Oriental aims to preserve both properties' "unique character and local cultural essence." Both hotels share ownership under Locka Holding BV and have been part of the Set Collection.

"Likewise, adding the Conservatorium Hotel to our portfolio will bring a new dimension to our presence across Europe's leading capitals," Kleitman remarked.

This expansion news follows recent announcements from Mandarin Oriental about broadening their ultraluxury vacation rental offerings.
