KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the flag carrier of the Netherlands, offers a diverse range of services from its hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. As one of Europe's oldest airlines, KLM continues to operate under its original name and is part of the Air France KLM Group.

The airline provides four service classes: Economy, Economy Comfort, Premium Comfort, and Business Class. In an effort to cater to discerning passengers, KLM's Premium Comfort cabin stands out with several features.

Firstly, passengers in Premium Comfort enjoy up to seven inches more legroom compared to economy class. The recline feature allows for a more relaxed seating position with up to 7.8 inches of recline available.

The Premium Comfort section consists of 21 to 28 seats and is available on select aircraft types including the Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787 models. However, it is not offered on narrowbody or regional fleets.

Seat width ranges from 18 to 19 inches between seats in Premium Comfort. The armrest and leg rest are adjustable for added comfort during flights.

Each seat in this class is equipped with power outlets and a personal entertainment system featuring a 13.3-inch screen offering movies, TV shows, music, and games in various languages.

Premium Comfort tickets come with different baggage allowances. Standard ticket holders can check two bags weighing up to 50 lbs each while Lite ticket holders are allowed one checked bag of the same weight limit.

KLM introduced its Premium Comfort cabin in August 2022 with an inaugural flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to New York John F. Kennedy Airport. Since then, it has expanded across most of its widebody fleet except for the A330s.

Boet Kreiken, executive vice president of KLM Customer Experience stated: “We have great expectations for this new Premium Comfort Class based on extensive market research. The new class will meet the wishes of business passengers as well as leisure travellers.”

In collaboration with Collins Aerospace, KLM developed a lighter seat design focusing on sustainability by using lightweight polypropylene for catering materials onboard.
