Qatar Airways has introduced a new route connecting Doha and Toronto, marking its second service to Canada and fourteenth to the Americas. The airline operates this route three times a week using a Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Starlink high-speed internet.

The inaugural flight, QR767, took off from Doha Hamad International Airport on Wednesday at 08:39 and arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport after approximately 13 hours and 50 minutes. The return journey departed Toronto at 20:26 and landed in Doha the following day.

Qatar Airways has a fleet of 64 Boeing 777 widebody aircraft. The plane used for the Toronto route was delivered in December 2009 and has recently served destinations including Melbourne, New York, London, Singapore, Chicago, Paris, and Riyadh.

As the first airline globally to operate Boeing 777s fitted with Starlink technology, Qatar Airways offers complimentary WiFi onboard these flights. "This launch underscores our unwavering commitment to presenting Canadian travelers with unparalleled service and seamless connectivity," said Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group CEO.

Toronto Pearson Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint expressed enthusiasm about the new route: "Global connectivity is [of] strategic importance to Canada and to Pearson as the demand for international travel rapidly grows."

Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada's largest airport by passenger traffic and offers more international destinations than any other airport in North America.
