Michael Jordan, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players, owns two Gulfstream private jets. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 17, 1963, Jordan spent his youth in Wilmington, North Carolina. He joined the University of North Carolina Tarheels in 1981 and was an All-American First Team in both 1983 and 1984. He led the team to the NCAA Championship in 1981.

Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls as the third overall pick in the NBA draft of 1984. His career with the Bulls includes six NBA Championships and numerous accolades such as six NBA Finals MVPs and five-time NBA MVP awards. Beyond basketball, he has been awarded two Olympic Gold Medals and the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.

His financial success is partly due to his association with Nike Air Jordan sneakers, contributing to a net worth exceeding $3.5 billion. This wealth allows him to own two luxurious private jets: a Gulfstream G550 registered as N239MJ and a newer Gulfstream G650ER registered as N236MJ.

The older G550 model was first produced by Gulfstream in 2005. The new G650ER was delivered to Jordan at Palm Beach International Airport on October 3rd, 2024. Jordan showcased this aircraft when attending a NASCAR event at Talladega Superspeedway on October 6th.

Both jets feature custom paint jobs reminiscent of Air Jordan sneaker designs. The G550 is known for its aerodynamic upgrades and fuel efficiency powered by Rolls-Royce BR710 engines providing over 15,000 pounds of thrust each.

The G650ER features advanced technology such as fly-by-wire flight controls and is powered by Rolls-Royce BR725 engines delivering nearly 17,000 pounds of thrust each.
