The airline industry, known for its challenging market conditions, saw several new entrants in 2024. Among the notable launches was airHaifa, an Israeli low-cost regional carrier that began operations on September 30th with flights between Tel Aviv and Eilat using ATR 72-600 aircraft. The airline has since expanded to include Larnaca and plans a new route to Athens next month.

AirJapan also made its debut this year as a low-cost international subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA). Operating from Tokyo Narita Airport, it currently serves Bangkok, Seoul Incheon, and Singapore with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. AirJapan aims to increase its fleet to six Dreamliners by the end of 2025.

Kyrgyzstan's Asman Airlines started flying in the last quarter of the year with two De Havilland Dash 8s. The airline is looking to lease Airbus A320 aircraft next year despite current EU restrictions on Kyrgyz airlines.

Mont Gabaon Airlines launched from Goma International Airport in mid-2024 with a diverse fleet including an ATR 72 and Boeing models.

In Japan again, Toki Air finally launched on January 31st after delays caused by COVID-19. Based at Niigata Airport, it flies domestic routes with a fleet of ATR aircraft.
