Malaysia has launched a campaign to boost tourism in 2026, called Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). The initiative was unveiled by Malaysian Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. As part of the campaign, three Malaysian airlines have introduced special liveries to promote the effort.

Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier with a history dating back to 1947, is participating with an Airbus A330. This aircraft bears the registration 9M-MTJ and has been stationed in Kuala Lumpur since August 2024. The airline aims to get this aircraft airborne soon to support the campaign. The new livery was presented at Hangar 6 of the MAB Engineering Complex in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), along with those of two other airlines.

Batik Air Malaysia, previously known as Malindo Air until its rebranding in 2022, is also part of VM2026. It operates mainly from Kuala Lumpur International Airport using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 for this initiative. One of its aircraft features designs highlighting Malaysia's wildlife and landscapes, while another showcases the Malayan Sun Bear. Tourism Malaysia commented: "The Malayan Sun Bear...has been adopted as the official icon for the campaign."

Low-cost airline AirAsia completes the trio involved in VM2026 with an Airbus A320neo featuring a distinctive red base coat and wildlife-themed designs alongside the campaign logo and slogan "Discover Malaysia's Wildlife Wonders." Tigers, bears, birds, and purple flowers adorn this vibrant livery.

The launch event highlighted these efforts as important steps toward achieving ambitious targets set by Malaysia for VM2026. These include welcoming over 35 million international visitors and generating RM147.1 billion ($32.7 billion) in tourism revenue next year.
