Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has introduced FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. This service is designed for e-commerce packages up to 20 kg, offering a combination of speed and competitive pricing with delivery times ranging from three to four business days.

The launch of FICP aims to strengthen FedEx's e-commerce capabilities, addressing the growing demand for diverse and cost-effective shipping solutions. The Middle East's e-commerce sector is experiencing rapid growth, driven by a tech-savvy youth population, supportive regulations, and significant investments in digital infrastructure. A Deloitte report forecasts the region's e-commerce market will expand from USD 39 billion in 2023 to USD 50 billion by 2025.

"FedEx International Connect Plus offers e-tailers a reliable solution that balances speed and cost, enabling them to scale up and seize new cross-border opportunities," stated Nitin Tatiwala, vice president of Marketing and Air Network for FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa. "At FedEx, our goal is to provide customers with a broad portfolio of tailored shipping solutions that meet their specific delivery needs. Combined with our digital tools, we empower e-commerce businesses to deliver an enhanced experience to their customers."

FICP incorporates digital features such as full tracking visibility throughout the shipping process for both e-tailers and customers. It also provides notifications to recipients and allows them flexibility in choosing delivery location, date, and time through FedEx Delivery Manager. Additionally, FICP includes Picture Proof of Delivery (PPoD), offering visual confirmation that packages have been delivered.
