Julieta McCurry, Vice President - In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity Strategy | Delta Air Lines

Delta's operations in Atlanta and the Southeast have returned to normal after winter weather affected the region, including the world's busiest hub, on Friday. Delta teams worked to minimize cancellations and assist customers during this period. Efforts continue to help those whose travel plans were disrupted.

An embargo for minors traveling alone remains in effect for Atlanta through Monday.

Delta waived checked bag fees until 11:59 p.m. local time on Saturday for flights operated by Delta, excluding those departing from Amsterdam handled by KLM. Customers who paid these fees between January 10 and January 11 will receive refunds soon.

A waiver is available for certain Southeast cities, including Atlanta, offering flexibility for customers with existing bookings affected by the storm.

Customers facing significant delays or cancellations can review options and rebook via the Fly Delta app or My Trips on delta.com. Those with U.S. domestic itineraries experiencing delays of three hours or more may opt not to fly and receive a full refund for unused tickets and ancillary fees. The same applies to international itineraries delayed six hours or more.

If a flight is canceled and a customer chooses not to use their rebooked itinerary, Delta will automatically refund the unflown portion of the ticket after a 24-hour waiting period.

Customers not automatically rebooked should contact Delta at airports or through Reservations by phone or message via the Fly Delta app to explore alternative options. According to Department of Transportation rules, if Delta cannot rebook a trip and does not hear from the customer, an automatic refund will be initiated.

Further details are available on delta.com.
