Henry H. Ting, S.V.P. & Chief Health Officer | Delta Air Lines

Todd O., recognized as Delta's most frequent flyer, has amassed over 15 million miles through his extensive travels between cities such as New York and Zurich. His experiences offer insights into the benefits of the SkyMiles Membership for both frequent and occasional travelers.

As a SkyMiles Medallion Member, Todd enjoys several advantages, including priority boarding and elite status recognition. He particularly values access to a dedicated Medallion phone line, distinguished check-in spaces at select hubs like LAX and JFK, and substantial Choice Benefits available to Diamond and Platinum Members. "This program has provided tools to smooth out my journey and actually make it quicker and more efficient," Todd said. "It goes along well with Delta’s solid reputation of operational reliability."

SkyMiles Members benefit from free Wi-Fi by T-Mobile on most domestic flights, offering access to Paramount+, New York Times Games, and Delta Sync seatback services designed to resemble home streaming platforms.

Todd frequently uses his Delta Sky Club Executive Membership to recharge at various clubs while traveling for work. He often finds respite in the Delta One Lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport during layovers before boarding Delta One flights.

The logistical setup of the SkyMiles Program allows Todd greater opportunities to earn Medallion Status through Award Travel without worrying about mile expiration—a feature he appreciates compared to other travel programs.

Beyond perks, Todd values personalized service from Delta staff. "What drew me to Delta in the first place was the people -- the hospitality is warm, comfortable and welcoming," he said. "Since I travel so much, sometimes I see these folks a lot more than my own family."

Delta launched its Frequent Flyer program in 1981 under a different name before renaming it SkyMiles in 1995. The airline remains committed to enhancing customer experiences over its next century.

Todd also maximizes his membership benefits through his Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card and limited-edition Reserve card made from a retired aircraft model. These cards help him earn miles on everyday purchases while providing additional perks like free checked bags and priority boarding.

At year-end, Todd donates miles through programs that allow members to contribute back; last year saw donations go towards organizations like the American Red Cross.

Additional ways exist for members looking to accumulate more miles: earning via approved retail partners or booking vacation packages including hotel stays or car rentals can boost mileage balances significantly.

"What keeps me loyal after all these years is the continuous improvement Delta is committed to doing for a better customer experience overall," Todd stated.
