Midway Partnership and the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) have announced the opening of three new retail locations at Chicago Midway International Airport. These include two Hudson retail stores and a Fannie May chocolate shop. Hudson operates over 1,000 travel convenience, specialty retail, and duty-free stores across North America.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed his support for the new additions: "I join Commissioner Rhee and CDA in welcoming Fannie May and two new Hudson shops to Midway's growing concessions program." He emphasized that these openings reflect a commitment to expanding business opportunities at the city's airports.

CDA Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee also commented on the development: “I’m proud to welcome Fannie May and these new Hudson shops to our vibrant concessions program at Midway.” She highlighted that bringing in diverse, local ownership groups contributes to investing in Chicago’s communities.

The expansion includes two new Hudson locations in Baggage Claim and Concourse C, offering snacks, beverages, travel necessities, electronics, books, magazines, and local products like Beelove and Garrett Popcorn. The strategic positioning aims to meet travelers' diverse needs.

Concourse A now hosts an outpost of Fannie May. Founded by H. Teller Archibald in 1920 in Chicago, Fannie May has become known for its gourmet chocolates enjoyed nationwide.

Sammy Patel, CEO of Midway Partnership, noted: “The transformation at Chicago Midway continues to evolve and deliver offerings for every kind of guest at the airport.” He emphasized that their focus is on creating a seamless travel experience while connecting passengers with Chicago’s culture.

Since 2017, Midway Partnership has invested over $75 million into enhancing the airport's concessions program. The total area has increased by about 30,000 square feet with plans to double jobs from 700 to 1,400. Notably, over 56% participation comes from Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.
