Emirates is set to introduce a new cabin configuration for its Airbus A350-900 aircraft, focusing on expanding the premium economy section. The Dubai-based airline plans to launch this three-class layout in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to Aero Routes. This new setup will include 32 business class seats, 28 premium economy seats, and 238 economy class seats.

The initial deployment of the new configuration is scheduled for October 25th on flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Bahrain (BAH). From December 2nd, it will be used on routes from Dubai to Mumbai (BOM).

Currently, Emirates' existing A350-900 layout features a different seat distribution with 32 business class seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 economy class seats. The changes reflect a shift towards offering more premium economy options at the expense of some economy seating.

Emirates has received three Airbus A350-900s so far and has an additional 62 on order. Despite initial delays, the airline began operating its first revenue flight with this aircraft model in late November 2024.

The introduction of these aircraft marks a significant step for Emirates as it expands beyond its traditional fleet of A380s and Boeing 777s. The A350 has already been used for both short-haul Middle Eastern routes and long-haul services to destinations like Edinburgh Airport.
