WestJet has increased frequencies on three of its 17 European routes for the upcoming peak summer season. All additional flights will be operated by the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

As a result, narrowbody transatlantic flights by Canada's second-largest airline have risen nearly 20% to a record 56 weekly flights in July, up from the previously scheduled 47. When all European services are included, WestJet has now scheduled 86 weekly flights, marking a 12% increase.

According to Cirium Diio data, WestJet's 17 European routes are summarized below. The increase on three routes appears partly facilitated by shifting equipment following frequency reductions on some U.S. routes.

WestJet's new highest-ever European frequency is 11 weekly flights. It is only the second time it has had more than one daily transatlantic flight on an airport-level basis; the first was in summer 2022 with nine weekly services between Toronto and London Gatwick.
