Iberia has announced plans to introduce several new seasonal routes, including flights from Madrid to Orlando and two Brazilian destinations using Airbus aircraft. The airline revealed that starting October 26, it intends to operate four weekly flights between Madrid Barajas Airport and Orlando International Airport with the Airbus A330-300, pending government approval. These flights will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

María Jesús López Solás, Iberia's Director of Sales, Customers, Network Development, and Alliances stated that the company is pleased to announce this new route alongside two additional flights to Brazil using the A321XLR. "Thanks to our relationship with Disney Destinations," she said, "we believe Orlando can become the star destination for the upcoming Christmas season."

Historically, only Air Comet in 2008 and 2009 and Iberojet in 2024 have operated direct itineraries from Madrid to Orlando. Iberojet plans non-stop flights between June-August 2024 and again in June-August 2025.

In addition to its Orlando route announcement, Iberia disclosed plans for new services from Madrid to Recife Airport and Fortaleza Pinto Martins International Airport in Brazil starting December and January 2026 respectively. The airline described these as a significant expansion of its network during winter months.

López Solás highlighted Brazil's potential beyond major cities: “Their magnificent beaches and pleasant climate make Recife and Fortaleza two of the main tourist destinations in northeast Brazil.” Eduardo Loyo from Empetur noted that these routes have been under consideration since 2023.

Currently operating one A321XLR registered as EC-OIL on routes such as Madrid-Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Iberia expects delivery of a second aircraft soon which could launch Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) service by April.

The introduction of these new routes signifies an ambitious step by Iberia towards expanding its transatlantic offerings while exploring market demand through flexible operations enabled by modern aircraft like the A321XLR.
