Emirates has engaged with educational organizations across Asia to distribute 700 handmade schoolbags to young students. This initiative is part of a broader effort to repurpose and upcycle materials for the benefit of children worldwide. The schoolbags, described as limited-edition and part of the 'Aircrafted' range, are made from fabrics and parts of Emirates' aircraft.

In India, Emirates collaborated with the Smile Foundation India, focusing on providing education, healthcare, and livelihood programs for children aged 6-14. In Bangladesh, they partnered with Kanan, Thikana, and Ahsania Mission Shishu Nagari, organizations that offer shelter for women and children. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, Emirates worked with SOS Children's Villages, known for supporting financially disadvantaged youths.

Emirates representatives visited each location to distribute the bags, which contain school supplies, books, and stationery. "Emirates has a local office in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, so each entity was visited by the Emirates representatives who helped pack the bags and distribute them and were eager to connect with the organizations who do such important work in the community."

The Aircrafted Kids initiative will next visit Egypt, with additional destinations in the MENA region planned. The project aligns with Emirates' commitment to responsible consumption, as they aim to repurpose over 50,000 kilograms of materials from aircraft undergoing refurbishment.

Backpacks designed by the Emirates team are crafted from durable, non-flammable seat fabric sourced from Germany and Ireland. They undergo a thorough cleaning process and are fitted with new linings, zippers, and straps. Emirates' SkyCargo and dnata Logistics handle transport and logistics to ensure seamless distribution.

"Emirates fans can also get involved in this 'connecting communities' initiative by purchasing limited edition luggage in the coming months," with proceeds supporting humanitarian projects through the Emirates Airline Foundation.
