Carnival Cruise Line is gearing up for an eventful few years with the launch of two new megaships, which are set to sail in 2027 and 2028. This marks a continuation of its strategy to offer distinctive experiences and deepen customer loyalty.

The new initiative involves introducing elaborate water parks on these vessels, replacing the Bolt roller coaster that was a hallmark of previous ships. During an event on Carnival Celebration, President Christine Duffy shared insights into the cruise line's "Innovation Itinerary" strategy focused on upgrading onboard attractions and enhancing guest experiences.

In 2027, Carnival Festivale, the first new ship since 2023, will commence its journey from Port Canaveral. It will feature Sunsation Point, an expansive water park with six slides, two of which will be suitable for families. The park will offer extended hours, allowing guests to indulge in water activities at night. The ship will also increase its interconnecting cabin offerings to cater to larger groups.

The fifth Excel Class vessel, Carnival Tropicale, will launch in 2028. However, further details regarding its itineraries or home port remain under wraps. As a result of these changes, the Carnival Mardi Gras will begin operating shorter cruises starting in 2027, providing flexibility for families looking to combine cruises with other holiday activities.

Additional developments include the opening of Carnival's private beach, Celebration Key, in July, and ongoing upgrades to its island investments in Half Moon Cay and Mahogany Bay, soon to be renamed Isla Tropicale. Duffy also mentioned upcoming updates to the VIFP Club loyalty program, reflecting a significant increase in Platinum and Diamond memberships since 2021.

Overall, Carnival's new ventures underscore a commitment to enhancing the cruising experience with two megaships in the pipeline and fresh attractions on the horizon.
