Delta Air Lines is planning to expand its transatlantic network this fall with a second daily nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). This addition is set to nearly double the airline's capacity on this high-demand route.

Currently, Delta operates a single daily nonstop flight using an Airbus A330-900neo, which offers 281 seats including 29 in the Delta One cabin. The existing service runs as Delta Air Lines Flight 260, departing Seattle at 20:25 and arriving in London at 14:15 the following day. The return flight, Delta Air Lines Flight 21, leaves London at 15:50 and reaches Seattle at 19:30.

The new service, slated to start on October 25, 2025, will deploy an Airbus A330-200. Delta Air Lines Flight 292 will depart Seattle at 18:20, reaching London at 11:00 the following day. Conversely, Delta Air Lines Flight 293 will leave London at 12:20 PM, landing in Seattle at 16:00 local time. This change will increase the route from 30 to 60 monthly flights, boosting seat availability from 16,800 to over 30,000 per month.

While airlines typically increase transatlantic capacity in the summer high season, Delta's decision to add winter flights is unusual. However, an expected rise in business travel, particularly in technology, finance, and communications sectors, appears to be driving this move.

Delta Air Lines was founded in 1929 and is a part of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline has several hubs, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport among others, and continues to innovate its service offerings.
