The Piper Aircraft Company, established in the 1930s, is a key player in the aviation sector. Known for creating reliable general aviation aircraft, Piper's range includes the M-Class series, specifically the Piper M-350, M-500, and M-700. These aircraft combine performance, comfort, and versatility, embodying Piper's values in aviation manufacturing.

The M-Class aircraft, named originally from "Malibu," encompass the company's most advanced units. Each model offers unique features while maintaining the quality associated with Piper. The Piper M-Class series traces its roots to the Piper PA-46 of the 1970s, with the Malibu as the first model. The Malibu, powered initially by a piston engine, was notable for its pressurized cabin enabling higher flight altitudes.

In 1988, the Malibu Mirage improved avionics and cabin comfort. The PA-46-500TP Malibu Meridian, introduced in 2000, transitioned to a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-42A turboprop engine, setting the foundation for the current M-Class lineup. Today, Piper no longer uses the Malibu name, now categorizing the aircraft as M350, M500, and M700.

"The M350 is our entry model in the M-Class, with a piston engine and a pressurized cabin," states Piper Aircraft. It features the Textron Lycoming Model TIO-540-AE2A engine, providing 350 hp and a cruising speed of 213 knots. The M350 can reach altitudes of 25,000 feet with a range of 1,343 nautical miles. A new M350 lists at $1.3 million, with pre-owned options from $900,000 to $1.5 million.

The M500, with a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6-42A turboprop engine, offers more power and performance. "The M500 upgrades its engine, enhancing speed and altitude capabilities," Piper explains. It delivers 500 hp, a cruising speed of 260 knots, and reaches 30,000 feet. The M500 is priced at $2.3 million, with used models ranging from $2 million to $2.5 million.

Finally, the M700 stands as the pinnacle of the M-Class. Featuring the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 engine, it generates 700 hp. "The M700 offers the best performance and avionics in our M-Class lineup," says Piper. It cruises at 301 knots with a range of 1,852 nautical miles and is priced around $4.2 million, with limited availability in the pre-owned market due to its recent certification.

Overall, Piper Aircraft continues to evolve its M-Class series, balancing advanced technology with its historical commitment to quality.
