Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with Uber, allowing SkyMiles members to earn miles on eligible Uber rides and UberEats orders. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to Delta's official newsroom, SkyMiles members who link their accounts with Uber can now earn miles across various services. Members will receive 3 miles per dollar spent on Uber Reserve trips, 2 miles per dollar on Uber Comfort and Uber Black, 1 mile per dollar on airport rides with UberX, and 1 mile per dollar on UberEats orders over $40. This initiative is part of Delta’s strategy to enhance the value of the SkyMiles program by rewarding members through everyday activities.

As reported by The Verge, Delta ended its previous partnership with Lyft in 2023 and has shifted its loyalty strategy by collaborating with Uber, the largest ride-hailing company in the United States. The new collaboration aims to provide more extensive rewards access as Uber holds a significant presence in both ride-hailing and food delivery markets. The Verge also notes that features like miles tracking and personalized offers for SkyMiles members will eventually be available for Uber rides booked through the Delta app.

According to NerdWallet, SkyMiles members must link their Delta and Uber accounts via the Uber app under the "Partner Rewards" section to start earning miles. Users must also select Delta as their preferred loyalty partner in the app’s settings to activate rewards. NerdWallet emphasizes this partnership as a valuable proposition for members who frequently use Uber Eats, facilitating easier mileage accumulation through regular purchases.

Delta Air Lines was founded in 1925 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, it operates more than 5,000 daily flights to over 300 destinations across six continents. Its SkyMiles program is recognized as one of the most flexible loyalty programs in the industry, offering miles redemption on flights, upgrades, and now lifestyle services such as ridesharing and food delivery.
