Etihad Airways announced on the social media platform X that it will begin operating four daily nonstop flights between Abu Dhabi and Karachi starting October 1, increasing service to 28 flights per week.

Karachi serves as Pakistan’s economic hub and largest metropolitan area, making it one of the country’s most important air travel destinations. In 2023, over 1.8 million international travelers entered Pakistan, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) serving as a major departure and arrival market, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Etihad’s increased frequency reflects the consistent demand for business, family, and labor travel between the UAE and Pakistan.

According to Etihad Airways' official news release, the airline will operate these services using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with both Business and Economy Class, offering flexible and affordable travel options. The expanded frequency increases passenger choice and improves connectivity to Etihad’s global network through its Abu Dhabi hub.

With this expansion, Etihad will operate 28 flights per week to Karachi and over 60 total weekly flights to five cities in Pakistan, including Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. According to Gulf News, the increased service is part of Etihad’s wider regional growth strategy aimed at meeting the demand of South Asian travelers, particularly those traveling for work, education, or family reunions. The airline also emphasizes improved scheduling to enhance connectivity and support trade flows.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi and operating a fleet of over 95 aircraft serving destinations across six continents. Founded in 2003, the airline is known for its premium onboard service, modern fleet, and ongoing sustainability initiatives. According to its corporate profile, Etihad has positioned itself as a competitive international carrier with strong regional connectivity and global reach.
