A GetJet Airlines Boeing 737-800, operating on a wet lease for Wizz Air, tipped back onto its tail after landing at Haugesund Karmoy Airport in Norway. The aircraft was scheduled to return to Šiauliai, Lithuania, for maintenance before resuming service.

Jan Ove Solstrand, Operations Manager at Haugesund Airport, explained that the incident was due to a weight imbalance during unloading. "The aircraft tipped backward due to a weight imbalance," Solstrand stated, noting that this resulted in damage to the aircraft's aft section. The affected Boeing 737-800 had completed flight W6 1749 from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport and landed in Haugesund at noon local time.

In response to the incident, GetJet Airlines dispatched an Airbus A321ceo as a replacement for the return journey from Haugesund to Gdansk. This A321ceo departed Vilnius Airport and arrived at the Norwegian airport later on June 10th. Wizz Air flight W6 1750 subsequently took off from Haugesund and landed in Poland around eight hours behind schedule.

GetJet Airlines arranged for the damaged 737-800 to be ferried back to Šiauliai International Airport on June 11th for technical checks of its fuselage. According to ch-aviation reports, Wizz Air has been utilizing wet-leased aircraft from GetJet Airlines amid challenges with its fleet of Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-powered A320neo family aircraft.

Šiauliai International Airport serves as a dual-use facility and hosts Aviatic MRO's maintenance operations since August 2023. GetJet Airlines chose Aviatic MRO as its maintenance partner, emphasizing "A-class service and reliability of our fleet is our priority." The maintenance facility offers comprehensive services including line and base maintenance along with heavy maintenance checks.

Wizz Air has faced disruptions due to grounded aircraft and has relied on wet-leased planes like those from GetJet Airlines. The involved Boeing 737-800 started flights for Wizz Air on May 27th while the Airbus A321 began earlier operations under Wizz Air's codes before taking over following this incident.
