Southwest Airlines experienced a flight cancellation on June 16, when Flight 1843 suffered a tire blowout before takeoff at T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island. The Boeing 737-700 aircraft was scheduled to fly to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Maryland but returned safely to the gate shortly after the incident.
Southwest Airlines confirmed that all passengers were rebooked on alternative flights, and the airport reported no facility issues following the event. An airport spokesperson stated, "The airport is fully operational and there are no delays."
The Boeing 737 involved in the incident has been part of Southwest's fleet since 2008. Despite its age, it has consistently operated without sporting any other livery.
