New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has recently welcomed a significant addition to its lineup of widebody aircraft with the arrival of Air France's highest-capacity twinjet, the Boeing 777-300ER. This aircraft, configured with 472 seats in a low-premium, economy-heavy layout, made its inaugural flight to JFK on June 16, 2025.

Air France's use of this high-capacity aircraft at JFK is not unprecedented in the United States. Previously, Miami hosted these flights for a limited period in 2023 and 2024. The French carrier typically deploys such large aircraft to destinations in the Caribbean and Indian Ocean regions.

The new service operates four times weekly during the peak summer season until August 31. Flights AF14/AF15 are exclusively assigned to this aircraft type during this period. Departures from JFK occur at 01:40 local time.

Air France maintains a strong presence at JFK with up to seven daily flights during July and August. When combined with Delta Air Lines, their SkyTeam partner and transatlantic joint venture collaborator, the total number of weekly departures rises to between nine and ten daily flights.

In addition to the high-capacity model, Air France also operates a newly configured version of the Boeing 777-300ER with a more premium focus. This variant includes four La Premiere first-class seats among its total of 312 seats across four classes.

JFK remains an important hub for widebody operations beyond twinjets like the Boeing 777-300ER. The airport hosts numerous superjumbo A380 flights operated by carriers such as Emirates and Lufthansa, making it second only to Los Angeles in terms of A380 traffic within the United States.
