Jesus "Jay" Malave Chief Financial Officer and executive vice president at Boeing | Official Website

Boeing has appointed Jesus "Jay" Malave as its new Chief Financial Officer and executive vice president, effective August 15, 2025. The announcement was made on June 30, 2025. Malave joins Boeing from Lockheed Martin, where he served as CFO since 2022. Prior to his tenure at Lockheed Martin, Malave held positions at L3Harris Technologies and United Technologies.

In a related move, Boeing has promoted Brian West, the former CFO of the company, to the role of senior advisor for Kelly Ortberg, Boeing's CEO and president.

Malave's appointment comes during a challenging period for Boeing. The company has faced significant hurdles in recent years, including issues with the Boeing 737 MAX and delays in certifying other aircraft models such as the 777X. Despite these challenges, CEO Kelly Ortberg expressed confidence in Malave's capabilities: "Jay will become CFO at an important time in helping build Boeing's next chapter as we continue to make progress on our recovery and implement fundamental changes rooted in safety and quality," said Ortberg.

Malave brings extensive experience from the defense sector but will now focus on leading Boeing's financial strategy across its commercial aviation division. His responsibilities will include overseeing reporting, business planning, investor relations, audit functions, and controller services.

The leadership change is part of broader efforts by Boeing to address past difficulties and restore its reputation within the aerospace industry. In recent years, the company has been overhauling its executive team and revisiting strategic decisions that have impacted its operations.

As Boeing seeks to recover from past setbacks and navigate future challenges, all eyes are on how this new leadership structure will influence its trajectory moving forward.
