Emirates has launched its second limited edition collection of luggage, named 'Aircrafted by Emirates,' made from upcycled aircraft interiors. This collection offers aviation enthusiasts a chance to own a unique piece of history with three new trolley bag styles, two trendy backpack styles, and two handbags, one crafted from the fur of an Emirates Captain's seat. Prices range from USD 80 to USD 350.

The materials for this collection have been sourced from Emirates A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. From 63 retrofitted planes, over 30,000 kg of materials have been repurposed into these items. The components include aluminum headrests and leather from First and Business Class seats as well as sofas from the A380 onboard lounge. All fabrics are cleaned thoroughly before being transformed into bags with added lining and functional zippers. Some bags even feature seatbelts as straps.

Designed and handmade by Emirates tailors at the Engineering facility in Dubai, these pieces reflect a unique blend of craftsmanship and sustainability. The team consists of 14 Engineering Maintenance Assistants whose primary role is maintaining aircraft interiors but are now dedicated full-time to this initiative due to its success.

This project aligns with Emirates' Retrofit Project initiated in August 2022, which aims to enhance customer experience through a significant fleet retrofit involving the upgrade of cabin interiors across 219 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Managed by Emirates’ Engineering team, this project includes installing new Premium Economy seats, refurbishing First Class suites, and upgrading Business Class seats.
