Singapore Airlines is operating its Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners on 26 routes from its hub at Singapore Changi Airport. The airline has a fleet of 145 passenger aircraft, with 125 being widebodies that include the Airbus A350, A380, Boeing 777-300ER, and the 787-10. At an average age of 5.1 years, the 787-10 is the youngest widebody in the carrier’s fleet.

The airline currently operates 26 Boeing 787-10s, making it both the launch customer and largest user of this aircraft type. The 787-10 is designed to carry more passengers than other Dreamliner variants but has a shorter range due to its higher weight. Each Singapore Airlines 787-10 has a total of 337 seats—36 in business class and 301 in economy—making it second only to the A380 in terms of seating capacity within the airline’s fleet.

According to Cirium Diio data for September, Singapore Airlines’ Dreamliners will serve destinations primarily within Asia. Of the 26 routes scheduled for September, all but two are within Asia; Adelaide and Perth in Australia are the exceptions. In Indonesia, Japan, China, and Thailand alone, eleven airports will see regular Dreamliner service. These four countries account for over half of all departures by Singapore Airlines’ 787-10s.

Most flights using this aircraft are short to medium-haul: about 93% of scheduled operations remain within Asia. The average flight length for these routes is approximately 1,688 nautical miles (3,126 kilometers), which is shorter than typical missions flown by other widebody types in the fleet.

In September, each Boeing 787-10 will average about 35 departures per day. This means roughly one out of every five Singapore Airlines passenger flights will be operated by a Dreamliner; among widebody departures specifically, that figure rises to nearly three out of ten.

Some routes see especially high frequency: Denpasar Bali gets six daily flights with the type; Bangkok Suvarnabhumi sees four daily; Osaka Kansai receives three daily; Adelaide has ten weekly flights (making it exclusively served by this model); and Perth shares service between the Dreamliner and A350. Other Asian cities such as Manila, Taipei, Beijing Capital and Daxing (from September), Chennai, Colombo, Delhi, Dhaka, Fukuoka, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Malé (until mid-month), Mumbai, Nagoya, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai Pudong, and Tokyo Narita have at least one daily departure with this aircraft.

A few destinations—including Chengdu Tianfu (through early September), Hanoi (starting mid-month), and Kathmandu (starting later in September)—will see less frequent service with sub-daily schedules.

Singapore Airlines configures its Dreamliners with fewer business class seats compared to its other widebodies except for economy-heavy configurations like those found on some competitors' fleets. Among current operators of the Boeing 787-10 worldwide—ten airlines in total—only EVA Air (342 seats), Saudia (357), Vietnam Airlines (367), and All Nippon Airways’ domestic version (429) have higher seat counts per aircraft.

Singapore Airlines was founded in 1972 and operates as a full-service carrier under IATA code SQ and ICAO code SIA from its main base at Singapore Changi Airport.
