The Park Hyatt Tokyo is set to reopen on December 9, following a closure that began in May 2024 for extensive renovations. Reservations will become available starting September 24 at noon local time in Tokyo, or September 23 at 11 p.m. EDT for those booking from the United States.

The hotel, located on the 29th to 52nd floors of the Shinjuku Park Tower, has been redesigned by Paris-based design and architecture studio Jouin Manku. The renovation updates guest rooms, the lobby, dining areas, and event spaces while retaining elements of John Morford's original designs.

Previously offering 177 rooms and suites, the property now features 171 accommodations that have been reconfigured to improve connectivity between rooms. New features include updated signature green carpeting, Aesop skincare products, Italian Frette linens, and Japanese-style pajamas known as "yukata." The newly introduced Park Suites are sized at 915 square feet and provide separate living and sleeping spaces with views of Harajuku, Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi Park, and on clear days, Mt. Fuji.

A new restaurant led by chef Alain Ducasse—Girandole by Alain Ducasse—will offer French brasserie cuisine with breakfast service in the morning and a menu including cocktails and wine throughout the day. The Peak Lounge and Bar remains part of the hotel but has received updates such as improved lighting inspired by Japanese lanterns and new furniture; it will also feature acoustic music performances in the evenings.

The New York Bar is being restored to its original appearance rather than redesigned. Other facilities returning to their previous form include Kozue (the Japanese restaurant), Club on the Park fitness center and spa, and The Library with over 2,000 books.

"We hope that when guests return, they will feel at ease and recognize the hotel's spirit, while also sensing a renewed energy," said Patrick Jouin, designer and co-owner of Jouin Manku. Sanjit Manku added: "It's like a film remake: the same story, reinterpreted by different generations. The deeper you explore, the more you will notice a thoughtful balance — refined in a way that will remain relevant for another 30 years."

For those interested in booking with points through World of Hyatt's program—the hotel remains a Category 8 property—with award nights beginning at 35,000 points for off-peak stays. Standard night bookings require 40,000 points per night while peak nights require 45,000 points per night. Standard suites can be booked for 61,000 points per night; premium suites are priced at 80,000 points per night.

Reservations open September 24 for stays starting December 9.
