Atlas Air has announced on the social media platform X that it is partnering with Kuehne+Nagel to enhance sustainable air freight through initiatives focused on reducing emissions and promoting environmental stewardship within the global supply chain.

According to Atlas Air’s official newsroom, this sustainability collaboration builds upon their joint participation in the Sustainable Engine Alliance. This alliance concentrates on decarbonizing aviation logistics by reducing environmental impact across the engine supply chain. The partnership will leverage sustainable aviation fuels and optimized logistics to support emissions reduction goals. Both companies emphasize that shared accountability and innovation are crucial for achieving long-term progress in cleaner global air freight.

Air Cargo News reports that the Sustainable Engine Alliance, of which Atlas Air and Kuehne+Nagel are founding members, has implemented digital tracking tools to measure carbon footprints throughout engine transport processes. The partnership also aims to pioneer alternative fuel integration and logistics optimization as part of their shared 2050 net-zero target. By combining operational expertise and logistics scale, both companies are creating replicable models for sustainable freight operations.

The program focuses on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption, fuel efficiency benchmarking, and transparent environmental data-sharing across the aviation sector. This framework provides the foundation for the joint sustainability initiatives highlighted by Atlas Air.
