Air India has announced adjustments to its domestic operations at Delhi Airport, effective October 26, 2025. The airline will move select domestic flights to Terminal 2 and all Air India Express domestic flights to Terminal 1, while international flights will continue to operate from Terminal 3.

According to Air India, the terminal changes are intended "to support T3 expansion activities" at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Domestic flights under the 1XXX series will operate from Terminal 2, and Air India Express domestic services will relocate to Terminal 1. This update aims to maintain efficiency at Delhi’s busiest airport hub as significant infrastructure expansion efforts progress.

The changes coincide with the start of the winter schedule and emphasize that all international operations will remain at Terminal 3, ensuring minimal disruption to global routes. Passengers are advised to confirm flight and terminal details via the Air India and Air India Express websites, mobile apps, or customer service.

Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) states that the Terminal 3 expansion is part of a broader modernization plan designed to increase the airport’s passenger capacity to over 100 million annually. The project includes new terminal infrastructure, improved baggage handling, and upgraded security and check-in systems aimed at enhancing efficiency. Air India's relocation of specific domestic operations facilitates construction while maintaining passenger flow management during this phase.

Founded in 1932 and headquartered in Gurugram, India, Air India is the country’s flag carrier and part of the Tata Group. The airline operates an extensive network across Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. According to its corporate materials, Air India's ongoing transformation plan "Vihaan.AI" includes operational modernization and hub restructuring initiatives such as the Delhi Airport terminal transition.
