The Aeroplan® Credit Card from Chase has introduced an enhanced offer in celebration of Aeroplan's 40th anniversary. Previously offering a substantial initial bonus, the card now provides an additional incentive for a limited period.

Cardholders can earn 70,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 within the first three months. Additionally, those who apply between July 8 and July 17, 2024, will receive a 40% bonus on purchases for 40 days on up to $40,000 spent.

The card’s annual fee is $95. Standard earnings include 3x Aeroplan points on dining, grocery stores, and Air Canada expenditures. It also offers 500 bonus Aeroplan points for every $2,000 spent in a calendar month, up to 1,500 bonus points each month.

Cardmembers gain Aeroplan Elite 25K status for the remainder of the calendar year in which they acquire the card plus the following year. This status can be maintained by spending $15,000 annually on the card. Spending $50,000 annually results in a one-tier status upgrade within Aeroplan.

Points can be redeemed at a rate of 1.25 cents each toward travel purchases using Pay Yourself Back (up to 50,000 points per year). Cardholders also benefit from a continuous 10% transfer bonus when moving points from Ultimate Rewards to Aeroplan for transfers of 50,000 or more points (up to 25,000 bonus points per year).

Additional benefits include a free first checked bag on Air Canada flights for the primary cardmember and up to eight other travelers on the same reservation; Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit every four years; and travel protections such as trip and baggage delay coverage.

Aeroplan members have access to Star Alliance and other airline partners with flexible award combinations. Stopovers on awards are available for an additional 5,000 miles.

Chase’s "5/24 rule" applies to this card; therefore most applicants will succeed only if they have been approved for four or fewer cards in the past two years.
